"What do Melissa Gilbert and a bottle of Scope have in common?", you may be asking yourself. Well, I will tell you MY thoughts on this.
First off, I always thought (on the
rare weekly occasion I watched this TV series), Half-Pint looked to me like she probably had bad breath. Why? I don't know. Maybe it was her
buck teeth overbite?... Maybe it was too much wholesome food? Maybe it was helping out "Pa" too much on the farm? Hell, I don't know. Maybe I just found her repulsive?
Secondly, I always thought it would be funny if Half-Pint really slipped and let loose with an obscenity. Then "Pa" could wash her mouth out with some of "Ma's" home made lye soap. That way I would see that and for at least a couple of minutes, Laura's (a.k.a. Half-Pint's"), breath would be releived of stench.
Of course, that never happened. One can only dream....
Oh my gosh, you had me chuckling out loud on this one! Not that I thought HalfPint had bad breath but your theory has valid points. Her half-sister was the daughter on Roseanne and I always thought SHE smelled badly or had bad breath. So, apparently it was hereditary.
